The Cantor Comment: From Zion to Pennsylvania – bringing a blessing from the Land

In 2009 in a hotel room in Lagos, Nigeria I had a revelation. I was on my way home to Tel Aviv from a mass outreach campaign.  I had the rare privilege of being able to attend as an observer, Rienhard Bonnke’s team ministering in Mubi, Nigeria  I wasn’t even sure why I had gone, but I knew the Lord had led me on this journey. On the last day one of the local leaders invited me to return and hold a mass outreach campaign.  I was initially excited, but sitting in my hotel room, I had no peace.

Confused, I asked the Lord, “I have been praying about Africa for a year and now a great door has opened…why don’t I have peace?”  Immediately he put in my spirit, “Ron, if you come back here by yourself, you will be a blessing to Nigeria, but it won’t touch Israel.  However, if you come back with a team of Israelis and let them minister, it will not only bless Nigeria, but Israel as well.”

From that word we birthed The Isaiah 2 Initiative.  Isaiah speaks of the word going forth from Zion to the nations.  Maoz was involved from the very beginning.  We gathered a team of on-fire Israelis, and made two trips to Nigeria, reaching tens of thousands with the Gospel, and one trip to Ukraine, where several hundred Jews professed faith in Yeshua.

AMERICA TOO?

However, when Ari and Shira asked me to lead a team of Israelis to America, I didn’t initially see it as part of the Isaiah 2 Initiative.  I guess because I am a native of the U.S. and in light of the prosperity in America, I was blinded to the fact that God speaks of the gospel going forth from Israel “to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8) —including America!

MJAA 2013 Worship

The Band from the Land leading worship during Israel Night

There is a special anointing on Israeli evangelists and worship teams when they go forth from Zion equipped with the message of Yeshua.  The Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA) has been holding the Messiah Conference for 40 years.  Last summer, we partnered with them to bring 40 Israelis to the conference.  The goals were clear:

•    Allow Israeli believers to meet Jewish believers from other nations.

•    Allow Messianic Jews and Christians from the U.S. to experience Israeli Messianic life through these young people.

•    Use this time to mentor young Israelis into leadership.  (We can already see fruit from this!!!)

So blessed was the MJAA leadership by our participation and the opportunity for American Messianic Jews and Christians to meet Israeli believers, that they invited us to return again this summer.

While we knew it would be a challenge to raise the funds, we felt this was part of our calling—not only to reach Israel, but the nations from Israel! And praise God—this year’s impact was even more powerful.

ISRAEL NIGHT

The third day of the conference was Israel Night, a night focused on what God is doing in the Holy Land.  Our worship team led in worship and then I shared a message called, The First Messianics.

The anointing was palpable, and I noticed the incredible spiritual energy in the auditorium.  As I blew the shofar at the end, I asked them to shout to the Lord, as in the days of Joshua.  As they did, The Holy Spirit fell and many were healed and set free.  Then, at least two thirds of the 1,300 people gathered came forward for prayer.

Many shared with our team members how the Lord touched them that evening.  You can watch the entire evening’s ministry including The Band from the Land here.

Shouting as in the Days of Joshua after Ron blew the shofar during Israel Night

To be clear, this great move of God had little to do with me or our team, but God’s desire to highlight HIS work in Israel.  We were just so honored to be His vehicles!

Our worship team, The Band from the Land, was so well received that they were asked to minister again on Friday night—something that rarely happens.

As a bonus, we did our weekly podcast live from the Cultural Center.  We started with about five people and ended up, after 45 minutes, with a full house.  We took questions from the audience on life in Israel.  It was lots of fun!

Pray with us as we continue to take teams of young Israeli worship leaders and evangelists to carry God’s word from Zion to the nations—even America!

    Ron;
I enjoyed all of “Israel Nite”. Thanks for coming over here to the conference, my first one. The musicians were really great, helped get us all in the mood of worship. I had the chance to meet & eat & talk with Vinnie quite a bit while you were here, but I have lost his e-mail. Is there a chance you could send that to me if you have it ? Please & toda raba!

Shalom! I listen with great joy, delight and appreciation to the Israel Night video from the Maoz report and was extreeely blessed. The worship was awesome, the testimonies very exhorting and the message that Ron Cantor brought was so timely and right on but espacially filled with the Holy Boldness and love with the authority of the Lord. Praise be to our Lord and King: Y’shua who does everything good and perfect.
The only thing I’d like to ask is if it would be possible to have the words of the hebrew songs that were song during the beginning of the worship. I believe it would have been a plus to have the words written in your Maoz letter so we could understand and worship in one accord although it was obvious they were very annointed. So I would love to read the words of these songs in English.
I have sent a foward of that Israel Night to many christian brothers and sisters who are gentiles and to a few new believers in Messiah who are gentiles to have them be connected with the Jewishness of our Messiah and the Gospel and receive the blessings of the unity of the brethren in Y’Shuah and comming from Zion!!!!
I believe it is so great, and awesome that calling that Ron Received to go with a group of Israeli believers to the nations from Zion!! It speaks to me that we are entering a new phase in God’s timetable of the Last Days to see this biblical prophecy which says that out of Zion will come the teaching concerning God Almighty and His Salvation & that the time of the Gentile is almost done with. Praise God He is coming soon!!! and I praise God for your obedience to this marvelous calling although I am well aware that it must also me quite a challenge I believe that no one can yet fatom the rippling effect of this ministry to the nations. They are going to made aware that there are jews who believe in Y’Shua more than ever before because it comes from Israel!!! Praise God and thank you, thank you to have obeiyed by faith to that call.. The video: it was like beeing there. God richly bless you and I pray He will provide for all the subsequent ventures out of Zion to the Nations in awesome and unexpected ways, that He will keep you all and protect you and especially keep you all united and in the LOVE of Messiah! For Y’Shua said that it was through our love for one another that people would know we are His Disciples. You truely were a blessing and I am impatiently waiting for news from those to whom I sent this video and have never had contact with messianic jews before. Among them there is only one jew and he worships in a gentile Baptist church, he is a musician and worship leader maried to a gentile woman from Pentacostal background who had lost her “Pentacostal ….”. Recently I challenged her with that and gave her a lot of teaching concerning the jewishness of the Gospel and she really was very thursty for it and appreciated very much & she said she was eager to view and listen to this video. I believe that if her husband listens to it it will transform his life to be connected with Israel and messianic jews.
God bless you and all of your congregation in Tel Aviv and at Maoz.
    Beulah
